Drag
A Drag maneuver pulls the target toward you in a straight line. It is the mirror of Bull Rush — instead of pushing an enemy away, you haul them closer or into a more disadvantageous position. Drag was introduced in the Advanced Player's Guide and is part of the standard PRD maneuver list.
Performing a Drag
| Action | Standard action |
|---|---|
| Provokes AoO | Yes, from the target — unless you have Improved Drag |
| Direction | Straight line directly toward you only |
| Distance limit | Cannot drag a target farther than your own movement speed allows |
| Check | d20 + CMB vs. target's CMD |
Results
Success (CMB ≥ CMD)
- Move the target 5 feet toward you.
- For every 5 by which your CMB exceeds the CMD, move the target an additional 5 feet.
- The target must move in a straight line directly toward you.
- You may move with the target (maintaining adjacency) at the cost of movement from your own speed.
Failure (CMB < CMD)
- The target is not moved.
- No condition is applied to either creature.
Terrain matters.
The target cannot be dragged through terrain you could not move through yourself (walls,
locked doors, solid obstacles). If the path is blocked, the target stops at the obstacle.
Key Feats
| Feat | Benefit | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|
| Improved Drag | Does not provoke AoO; +2 CMB and CMD for Drag | STR 13, Power Attack |
| Greater Drag | When you drag a foe, all creatures adjacent to the foe's original space may make AoOs against it | Improved Drag, BAB +6 |
