Eidolons
An eidolon is a powerful outsider permanently bonded to a summoner. Unlike summoned monsters, an eidolon is always the same entity — it grows in strength as the summoner advances and shares a fragment of his soul. The summoner shapes its physical form and allocates evolution points (EP) to customize its attacks, senses, and special abilities. Evolutions are chosen at each summoner level and are fixed until the next level-up (or until the summoner spends 1 gp per EP on the transmogrify spell to rebuild the eidolon from scratch).
Base Forms ¶
Each eidolon starts as one of four base forms. The form determines starting size, speed, natural armor, ability scores, saves, and which attacks are available for free. All free evolutions count against the maximum attacks limit.

Eidolon Base Statistics ¶
Select your summoner level to highlight the matching row. All bonuses are in addition to the base form stats above. The armor bonus is added to natural armor; the Str/Dex bonus is added to the eidolon's starting Str and Dex scores.

Evolution Pool ¶
At each summoner level the eidolon receives a pool of evolution points (EP) shown in the EP column above. When the summoner gains a level he decides how all EP are allocated — the choices are set until the next level-up. The transmogrify spell (1 gp per EP) allows a full rebuild between levels.
- Free-form evolutions (Bite, Climb, Swim, etc.) do not cost EP from the pool — they are granted by the base form for free.
- The same evolution can be taken multiple times only if it is marked repeatable.
- Prerequisites must be met at the time of selection; losing an evolution mid-pool does not invalidate others, but it does remove the benefit of the prerequisite evolution.
- At summoner level 10, the Aspect ability lets the summoner borrow up to 2 EP from the eidolon's pool (reducing the eidolon's available EP by the same amount). At level 18, Greater Aspect allows borrowing up to half the pool.
Evolutions Reference ¶
Four cost tiers. Entries marked R can be taken more than once. Form restrictions are noted inline. Entries from Ultimate Magic are tagged UM.
Razor-sharp bite attack (1d6; 1d8 Large; 2d6 Huge), primary. If the eidolon already has a bite, deals 1½× Str on damage rolls.
Two claw attacks (1d4; 1d6 Large; 1d8 Huge), primary. Applied to one pair of arm limbs; does not add extra attacks if the base form already has claws.
Climb speed equal to base speed. Each additional selection increases climb speed by 20 ft.
Breathe underwater indefinitely.
One natural attack's damage die increases one step. Each selection applies to a different attack.
+2 natural armor. Can be taken once per 5 summoner levels.
All natural attacks treated as magic for DR. At summoner level 10+, also treated as the eidolon's alignment.
Combat-trained mount; eidolon must be at least one size larger than rider.
Two pincer attacks on one limb pair (1d6; 1d8 Large; 2d6 Huge), secondary. Grants +2 CMB to grapple if Grab is also selected.
Full attack after a charge.
One attack type pulls target 5 ft. closer on a free CMB check. Each selection applies to a different attack type.

Resist 5 vs. one energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, sonic). Each additional selection: +5 resist (same or different type), max 15 per type without Immunity.
Scent special quality; detects opponents within 30 ft. by smell (60 ft. upwind, 15 ft. downwind).
+8 racial bonus to one skill. Each selection applies to a different skill.
Devastating slam attack (1d8; 2d6 Large; 2d8 Huge), primary. Requires arm limbs; replaces the claws from the base form if desired.
Stinger on tail (1d4; 1d6 Large; 1d8 Huge), primary. Each additional selection adds another sting.
Swim speed equal to base speed. Each additional selection increases swim speed by 20 ft. Does not grant water breathing.
+2 racial bonus on Acrobatics (balance). Required by Sting and Tail Slap.
Tail bash attack (1d6; 1d8 Large; 2d6 Huge), secondary. Each additional selection adds another tail slap.
Tentacle attack (1d4; 1d6 Large; 1d8 Huge), secondary. Each selection adds another tentacle.
Two wing attacks (1d4; 1d6 Large; 1d8 Huge), secondary.
+2 to one ability score. Can be applied once per ability score per selection.
When grappling via Grab, deals additional damage equal to the grabbing attack's damage.
All natural attacks deal +1d6 energy damage (acid, cold, electricity, or fire).
Fly speed equal to base speed. Maneuverability: Good (Medium or smaller), Average (Large), Poor (Huge). Wings may also qualify for Wing Buffet.
Horn gore attack (1d6; 1d8 Large; 2d6 Huge), primary.
Free CMB grapple attempt on hit. Choose one attack type (bite, claw, pincers, slam, tail slap, or tentacle). Each selection applies to a different attack type.
Immunity to one energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic). Each selection applies to a different type.
Additional pair of limbs. Arms: gives hands (no extra attacks without other evolutions). Legs: +10 ft. base speed per pair.
Poison attack on bite or sting (injury; Fort negates; 1/round for 4 rounds; 1d4 Str; cure 1 save; DC = 10 + ½ HD + Con).
2 rake attacks (1d4; 1d6 Large; 1d8 Huge) when grappling, primary. Delivered each time the eidolon succeeds on a grapple check.
When two claw attacks hit the same target in one round, deal claw damage as bonus damage.
Full-round overrun vs. targets one size smaller; no CMB check needed; target can attempt Ref (DC = CMB) for half damage.
Tremorsense 30 ft. while both eidolon and target are on the ground.
Free CMB trip attempt on a successful bite attack.
Simple Weapon Proficiency. Spending 2 additional EP (4 total) grants all martial weapon proficiency as well.
Pinpoints creature locations within 30 ft. without sight; those creatures still have total concealment.
Burrow speed = ½ base speed through dirt, clay, sand, and earth. No tunnel left behind.
DR 5/[chosen alignment]. Must choose an alignment opposite to one the eidolon possesses.
Opponents within 30 ft. shaken for 3d6 rounds (Will negates; DC = 10 + ½ HD + Cha).
If the eidolon starts its turn with a bitten creature, it may CMB to swallow it (up to one size smaller); swallowed creature takes bite damage + 1d8+Str per round.
Spinnerets; ranged touch webbing (8/day) entangles targets up to one size larger; can also anchor and move across web.
Ignores darkness, invisibility, and concealment within 30 ft. (requires line of effect).
30-ft. cone or 60-ft. line; 1d6/HD damage (energy type chosen at selection); Ref half; usable 1/1d4 rounds.
Fast healing 1; heals 1 HP per round.
Grow to Large size: +8 Str, +4 Con, +2 natural armor, −2 Dex; −1 size penalty to AC/attacks; +1 bonus to CMB/CMD; attacks scale up one die step.
SR = 11 + summoner level. Does not apply to spells cast by the summoner.
Eidolon Special Abilities ¶
These are granted automatically at specific summoner levels — they do not cost EP.

Eidolon Skills ¶
Eidolons have the following default class skills: Bluff (Cha), Craft (Int), Knowledge (planes) (Int), Perception (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), and Stealth (Dex).
At 1st level the summoner chooses 4 additional class skills for the eidolon. These choices are permanent. If the eidolon gains a fly speed at any point, it automatically gains Fly (Dex) as a class skill for free.
Aspect & Greater Aspect ¶
At 10th level a summoner gains the Aspect ability. He may borrow up to 2 evolution points from his eidolon's pool to apply to himself. Each borrowed EP reduces the eidolon's available EP by the same amount. Borrowed evolutions do not grant limbs, natural attacks, or large size — physical evolutions that would be nonsensical on a humanoid body are unavailable.
At 18th level, Greater Aspect allows the summoner to borrow up to half the eidolon's total EP (rounded down).
